Clean clothes…..something so simple can mean so much to an individual or family in need. Each year members of our team head out into the local community and visit with those that are doing their laundry at local washaterias and laundromats. We cover the cost of washing and drying their loads that day so they can spend that money on other necessities for themselves and their families. During this time, we visit with parents, play with children, talk about the daily struggles of life and just connect with our neighbors to meet a need in their life.
Putman Restoration team members joined staff and volunteers from the Simple Church on a recent mission trip to Haiti. During this trip we were able to provide chickens to local families thanks to donations. These animals not only serve as a food source, but also help to stimulate the local economy as they produce eggs that can be sold or traded. Visiting children that are sponsored through 410Bridge and sponsoring more children truly touched the hearts of our team in a profound way. Sponsorship helps to provide for each child’s physical, spiritual, and educational needs. Of course, many laughs were had and pictures taken as well.
Water is essential for life. At Putman Restoration we deal with water every day, and yet we so often can take it for granted. Clean drinking water is an expected thing for most of us, but for many in poverty around the world, it is an unknown luxury.
We partner with Living Water International to bring clean, potable water to communities in Honduras. By drilling new wells, installing systems to give access to a reliable and safe water source, and teaching safe hygiene practices, entire villages can be changed.
